Penicillin

Sam Ross's modern classic. Smoky Scotch float over honey-ginger-lemon.

Ingredients

  • 2 ozBlended Scotch or whisky
  • 0.75 ozFresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 ozHoney-ginger syrup
  • 0.25 ozIslay Scotch (float)

Method

  1. 1.Combine whisky, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup in a shaker with ice.
  2. 2.Shake vigorously for 12-15 seconds.
  3. 3.Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  4. 4.Float the Islay Scotch on top by pouring over the back of a spoon.
